Summer Break

Our Third Thursday series is taking a break until September, but that doesn’t mean CMOA isn’t bringing the fun this summer! Join us on June 10 and July 22 for two family-friendly Summer Breaks featuring art, interactive activities, special tours, outdoor music, food, beat-the-heat beverages, and more!

June 10, 2017, 10 a.m.–5 p.m.: CATurday

Free with museum admission

A feline-friendly day of family fun! We’re celebrating the launch of Art Cat’s Sketchbook, a new CMOA art activity book for kids and families, with art activities and a little help from our local animal shelters. Meet adoptable cats at the museum all day, and bring a drawing of your favorite cat for $2 off admission.

July 22, 2017, 3–9 p.m.: 20/20 Opening Celebration

Detail view of a painting by artist Kerry James Marshall

Help us open the exhibition 20/20: The Studio Museum in Harlem and Carnegie Museum of Art with a summer afternoon of conversation, art-making, reflection, and music. Join exhibition tours, participate in special activities for the whole family, experience a work by Pittsburgh artist Edith Abeyta, enjoy bites from local food trucks, and dance to outdoor beats in CMOA’s Sculpture Court with Pittsburgh’s 1Hood Media.
