Story Saturdays: Made by Maxine

Bruce Galleries, Carnegie Museum of Art

Join us in the Ailsa Mellon Bruce Decorative Arts and Design galleries for an in-person story time with Alyssa Velazquez, Curatorial Assistant for Decorative Arts and Design, reading Made by Maxine by Ruth Spiro and illustrated by Holly Hatam, followed by a making activity for children 12 and under.

In Made by Maxine, learn all about Maxine, who loves making new things from old things. She loves tinkering until she has solved a problem. She also loves her pet goldfish, Milton. When it’s time for her school’s pet parade, Maxine is determined that Milton will march with the rest of the four-legged animals. Join this young maker as she learns that with enough effort it’s possible to invent anything.

This reading is made possible by Dial Books.
