Look deeply at photographer Gordon Park’s images of the Penola, Inc. Grease plant and the people who worked there in Pittsburgh’s Strip District in the 1940s in the exhibition Gordon Parks in Pittsburgh, 1944/1946. Discuss Park’s documentation of the plant, its workers, and the range of their activities manufacturing lubricants to support U.S. military efforts during World War II.

At 12:30 and 2:30 p.m., enjoy the musical stylings of Hugo Cruz and Caminos! In between concerts, DJ Mary Mack will soundtrack an afternoon full of eating, drinking, art-making, and summer fun.

This edition of Inside Out will feature original production from both DJ SMI and PVKVSV using African samples and rhythms as well as the classic Afrobeat and the latest Afrobeats the AFROHEAT! party is known for.

Inside Out Night, a special 21+ party under the stars, will take place on Friday, July 15. STAYCEE PEARL dance project & Soy Sos in collaboration with Mostbeautifullest and Hot Mass will present CIRCLES: Going Off, a dance party version of their full-length choreographic performance featuring Yah Lioness and Queen Jo. Layering movement, visual arts, MCs, DJs, electronics, and a live original score, CIRCLES: Going Off invites everyone to join the celebration!
