Meet Gabriel Sierra

As part of the 2013 Carnegie International, Colombian artist Gabriel Sierra explored a new way to highlight our unique Hall of Architecture by painting the walls a deep purple–a color that echoes symbols of royalty, power, holiness, or mysticism present in many of the cultures and time periods represented in the collection of plaster casts found in the hall.

You can find your own ways to make something creative inspired by this iconic hall. Stay tuned for our Hall of Architecture sketching challenges–debuting soon–and book your timed ticket to come explore it at the museum in person (don’t forget to pack your pencil and paper)!
