Fereydoun Ave

Fereydoun Ave (b. 1945, Tehran; lives in Paris) is one of the most consequential Iranian cultural figures of the past five decades. He received his BA in applied arts for theater from Arizona State University and later studied film at New York University. Beyond his work as an artist, he has served as a designer, art director, curator, gallerist, and collector. As a visual artist, Ave has participated in exhibitions around the world. His artwork exists in the collections of the British Museum, London; Metropolitan Museum of Art, New York; Los Angeles County Museum of Art; Centre Georges Pompidou, Paris; Cy Twombly Foundation, New York; and Tehran Museum of Contemporary Art.
