School group visits and programs can be scheduled by calling the group visits office at 412.622.3289 between 9:00 a.m. and 4:30 p.m., weekdays. You can also contact the office via e-mail at groupvisits@carnegiemuseums.org.
Schedule your visit at least four weeks in advance to assure availability. You will need one chaperone for every 10 students in grades K–12.
Be prepared to provide the following information:
- Date preferences (please have three potential dates in mind)
- Requested tour or program theme
- Arrival and departure times
- Group size and grade level
- School name, phone number, and address
- County and school district
- Contact name, day and evening phone numbers, e-mail address, and postal address to receive confirmation
- Special needs
You will receive confirmation and payment information by mail. In advance of your visit, a museum educator or docent will call to discuss specific program content. Your prompt response is required to allow us to accommodate any specific artwork requests or to tailor programs to classroom studies.
Payment is required in advance for all programs. If payment cannot be provided at least 14 days in advance, contact the group visits office to make special arrangements. Admission is free for required chaperones. All materials are included.
Gallery Tours: $7.00/student for 60-minute tour; $8.50/student for 90-minute tour
Studio Workshops & Writing the Expository Essay: $10.00/student
School-Museum Projects: $595.00/class, 35 students maximum
The Museum of Art store carries inexpensive items appropriate for student purchase as well as museum publications. Teachers can preorder gift bags. Call 412.622.3309 for information.
