In the hands of the Stuttgart-based architecture and engineering firms Behnisch Architekten and Transsolar Climate Engineering, “green architecture” melds environmentally responsible design with a remarkable architectural aesthetic. In collaboration, the firms have produced designs that transform urban spaces and work environments for contemporary life. Of particular interest to Pittsburgh viewers is their winning RiverParc project for the Pittsburgh Cultural Trust.
Support for Ecology. Design.Synergy is provided by the
PPG Industries Foundation. The programs of the Heinz Architectural Center
are made possible through the generosity of the Drue Heinz Trust. General
support for the exhibition program at Carnegie Museum of Art is provided
by grants from The Heinz Endowments and the Pennsylvania Council on
the Arts.
